A short chat with Goofy leads me to believe it's a Springfield made my Rock Island. Funny thing is the barrel is stamped with "CAL .30/06" in a different font than rest of markings on receiver. The wrist of the stock is cracked-broken and I'd like to get a replacement. Found a table indicating the production end of 1903 RIA made rifles was at 348414 with 346000 total made. So my rifle does not fit into that serial range.
